On Sunday, July 25 2010 at 6AM, The Security Forces detained Hanieh Farshi by entering her house.
Rahana reports, Security Forces, after detaining her, searched her home and confiscated computer, telephone and her personal belongings.  She was first taken to Intelligence Detention Center in Tabriz and then transferred to Evin Prison.
This Tabriz citizen has been charged with “insulting the sacred, linked to foreigners” which is being said it is due to her activities on Facebook.  There is no information available about her and her family is not being allowed to contact her either.
Mrs. Farshi is 28 years old and has only an old mother and never had any history of political activities.

بازداشت یک زن در تبریز به خاطر فعالیت‌های‌اش در فیسبوک

ماموران امنیتی در تاریخ یک‌شنبه ۲۷ تیر ماه ۱۳۸۹ در ساعت شش صبح به منزل هانیه فرشی شتربان وارد شده و وی را بازداشت می‌کنند

به گزارش رهانا، ماموران امنیتی بعد از تفتیش منزل وی بازداشت کرده و کامپیوتر، تلفن و وسائیل شخصی وی را ضبط می‌کنند. وی در ابتدا به بازداشتگاه اطلاعات تبریز منتقل شده و سپس به زندان اوین منتقل می‌شود

به این شهروند تبریزی اتهاماتی چون «اهانت به مقدسات، ارتباط با بیگانه» زده‌اند که گفته می‌شود بر مبنای فیسبوک ایشان است. از وضعیت وی در حال حاضر اطلاعاتی در دست نیست و اجازه تماس با وی به خانواده‌اش داده نمی‌شود

خانم فرشی ۲۸ ساله و تنها یک مادر مسن دارد و سابقه هیچ‌گونه فعالیت سیاسی نداشته است

Zahra Rahnavard, wife of opposition leader, MirHosein Mousavi said in a meeting with Karaj political activists that a faction of the Iranian establishment considers women as a “new threat.”
Kaleme website reports that Rahnavard claimed Iranian women were harassed “on the streets, in prisons and the media.”
In the course of the controversial presidential election of 2009, the video clip of the Iranian woman, Neda AghaSoltan shot to death during the Tehran street protests was posted on You Tube arousing international outrage.
Women’s presence in the election protests was highly pronounced and many of them were arrested and killed in the government crackdown on the protests.
The Islamic Republic has many discriminatory laws against women which the women’s movement claims has impeded women from attaining growth and social success.
Rahnavard went on to say that “oppression, torture and character assassination” of women has laid unprecedented pressure on women and added that “the Green Movement is fully aware that without the presence of women and close attention to their demands the goals of the Movement will remain out of reach.”

خرداد سال گذشته و در جریان اعتراضات پس از انتخابات بحث‌برانگیز ریاست‌جمهوری ایران، صحنه جان دادن یک زن ایرانی در سراسر جهان منتشر شد

صحنه کشته‌شدن ندا آقاسلطان او را به سمبل اعتراضات ایرانیان تبدیل کرد

علاوه بر او زنان و دختران دیگری نیز در جریان اعتراضات خیابانی به ضرب گلوله کشته شدند و ده‌ها نفر دیگر نیز بازداشت شدند

در ایران همچنین زنان نسبت به مردان از حقوق کمتری برخوردار هستند. فعالان حقوق زنان می‌گویند که «قوانین تبعیض‌آمیز و رفتارهای مرد‌سالارانه» مانع پیشرفت و رشد زنان ایرانی شده است

رهنورد همچنین در این دیدار گفت که حاکمیت با «سرکوب،شکنجه و ترور شخصیت» زنان را در در معرض «فشار بی‌سابقه‌ای» قرار داده است

او افزوده: «جنبش سبز می‌داند که تحقق آرمان‌های آن بدون حضور زنان و توجه به مطالبات آنان میسر نخواهد بود.»

RAHANA- In an open letter to the Judiciary, the family of Abolreza Tajik, imprisoned journalist and political prisoner, complained about the lack of respect shown towards Tajik in the presence of the prosecutor.  As per Kalame, in this letter Tajik’s family request permission to meet with him immediately.

In the name of God,

To the Head of the Judiciary Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani,

We would like to inform you of the fact that 31 days after our journalist brother Adolreza Tajik was arrested we were finally able to visit with him on July 14th, 2010, from behind a booth at Evin prison. During our brief meeting with our brother, he reiterated with much regret, sadness and anger that he had been treated with utter disrespect and lack of dignity in the presence of the prosecutor and the interrogator from branch #1 of the Revolutionary Court.  As a result, our brother Adolreza Tajik has requested an immediate audience with his lawyer and the respectable prosecutor of  Tehran.

We described the details of this visit in a letter sent to the Tehran Prosecutor Jafari Dolatabadi.  Unfortunately, despite the fact that 10 days have passed since this letter was first sent, we have not received a response to date.  We request that in your position as the highest Judicial body in this country that you ensure that our oppressed and captive brother is not deprived of his fundamental rights. Our brother has been incarcerated for more than 41 days, in violation of what is stipulated in our Constitution. The details pertaining to his arrest were also sent to you in a previous letter.

The country’s Highway Patrol announced: 27 deaths in the last 24 hours

Colonel Alborzi announced 27 deaths and 230 wounded on the road accidents during the past 24 hours.  The Highway Patrol Deputy of Operations said: “In the last 24 hours, there has been 21 accidents that led to deaths and 135 that led to injuries of which 27 people were killed and 230 wounded.
He stated that 62 of these accidents were due to cars rolling over, he said: 36 counts of these accidents were as a result of diversion to the left, 34 counts violating the speed limit, and 28 counts due to lack of attention to the front of them.
He called the worse accident in the past 24 hours, the rolling over of a Patrol on Shiraz-Sepidan Freeway in Fars Region and said: In this accident which was for sure due to speed limit violation, 5 people were injured.

Tourism Organization said: On the nights of Qadr (a religious ritual due to the death of Imam Ali when for 3 days and nights people spend their time in mosques and read the Quran continuously with many restrictions on the whole country), no one has the right to go to the Coast of  Antalya

The Deputy of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Organization has said that this organization does not involve itself in people’s religious matters and the vacation tours and travels are free during the month of Ramadan to function and people can travel wherever they want!
He has announced that Travel Service Offices on the three night of Qadr on the holly month of Ramadan, will not be taking any passengers to locations that are holding music, dancing and concerts.
Thus, eventhough this organization does not involve itself in people’s religious affairs, but on the nights of Qadr (and only Qadr nights) tours and travels to destinations with entertainment and amuzement is banned!  On that note, it is not clear as to this organization eventually is interfering in people’s religious affairs or not!  If they are not interfering then why the bans for the nights of Qadr and if they are, then why allowing people to travel to entertaining and amusing destinations such as beaches of Bulgaria and /or Antalya…during the month of Ramadan?
The high volume of travelers to touristic and leisure places such as Turkey and United Arab Emirates during the days of mourning (Qadr Nights) and especially during the month of Ramadan has caused the governement and the Tourism Organization to show reactions.  Prior to this and after the distributions of photos of Iranians on the leisurely Coasts of Antalya, based on Ahmadinejad’s orders, the direct flights to Antalya have been banned until the Islamic Hotels are built.

سازمان گردشگری اعلام کرد: در شب های قدر کسی حق ندارد به سواحل آنتالیا برود

معاون گردشگري سازمان ميراث فرهنگي گفته است که این سازمان در مسائل شرعي مردم دخالت نمي کند و تورهاي مسافرتي در ماه رمضان آزادند و مردم مي توانند به هر جا که ميخواهند سفر کنند

اعلام کرده است که دفاتر خدمات مسافرتي در سه شب قدر ماه مبارک رمضان هيچ مسافري را به مقاصد خاص که در آن مراسم موسيقي، رقص وآواز برگزار شود، نمي برند

به این ترتیب با اينکه سازمان بنا ندارد در مسائل شرعي مردم دخالت کند اما در شبهاي قدر (و فقط شبهاي قدر) تورهاي مسافرتي به مقصدهاي مراکز فسق و فجور برگزار نخواهد شد! با این حساب معلوم نیست که بالاخره سازمان در مسائل شرعي مردم دخالت ميکند يا نه! اگر دخالت نمي کند پس به شبهاي قدر چه کار دارد و اگر هم بناي دخالت در مسائل شرعي را دارد چرا مسافرت رسمي مردم به مقاصد مراکز فسق و فجور (مثل سواحل بلغارستان يا آنتاليا و…) در سراسر ماه رمضان آزاد است؟

حجم بالای متقاضیان مسافرت به اماکن توریستی و گردشگری در کشورهای ترکیه و امارات در روزهای عزاداری و به خصوص در ماه رمضان موجب شده است که دولت و سازمان گردشگری واکنش نشان دهند. پیش از این و در جریان پخش تصاویر ایرانیان در سواحل تفریحی آنتالیا به دستور احمدی نژاد سفرهای مستقیم به آنتالیا تا زمان ساخته شدن هتل های اسلامی ممنوع اعلام شده بود

Even if you work in the heart of Canada’s advertising industry, it is unlikely you have heard of the Advertising and Marketing Association of Canada. That’s because it doesn’t exist.

Well, that’s not quite true. It seems to be active in Tehran.

At an Iranian news conference earlier this month the association’s head, Afshin Nemati, helped spread word that Iran’s government is cracking down on unacceptable haircuts on men. He took questions on news clips shown around the world, explaining what sorts of haircuts will be acceptable in that country.

Nemati claims to live in Toronto and his business website states he has a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from York University.

But that’s not true either. York does not offer a Doctor of Business Administration, and its registrar’s office has no record of Nemati.

Members of Toronto’s Iranian diaspora, including a Toronto man who just learned his phone is listed as Nemati’s contact number, want to know why a group with such a name, and that uses the Canadian flag as its logo, would be advising the Iranian government about acceptable haircuts for men.

Also, Advertising Standards Canada has never heard of the Advertising and Marketing Association of Canada and wonders why an organization with such a name would be based in Tehran.

“One would assume that with the Canadian flag, and when you say ‘of Canada,’ there’s a general impression that it’s a Canadian entity,” said a perplexed Linda J. Nagel, president and CEO of Advertising Standards Canada. “I’ve never heard of them. At first blush, looking at this website it sure doesn’t seem to be what it says it is.”

The business name AMACA has been registered in Ontario since 2006, listing Nemati as the sole proprietor. The company address is a condominium in the Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave. area, and another name, not Nemati’s, is listed as the resident.

A phone call placed to the number listed on AMACA’s website for its Toronto office found a stunned Davoud Akbari on the other end. “This is the number for my office,” said Akbari, an accountant who works in the Yonge St. and Steeles Ave. area. “Mr. Nemati is my client. I do his personal taxes once a year for the last five years.”

Akbari says he never gave Nemati permission to use his number and when asked if he receives phone calls asking for Nemati or AMACA, replied: “You’re the first one, ever. I did his taxes three months ago, that’s the last time I saw him.”

A York University business professor was equally confused that a man advising an Iranian cultural organization with ties to the government is using York credentials to establish his credibility. “That’s the only thing I can think of, it’s a credibility issue,” said Schulich School of Business professor Farrokh Zandi.

In the news clip from Iranian TV the reporter says, translated from Farsi: “Soon with the support of (Iran’s) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these beauty specialists will establish an academy in Canada for education and propagation of Iranian-Islamic (haircuts).”

The only explanation Zandi offers is that Iran’s government has created a fake Canadian organization to convince pro-western Iranians that the haircuts aren’t all bad.

The involvement of an apparently fake Canadian organization, especially one without any actual presence here, also concerns York political science professor Saeed Rahnema.

“Even the wording on the website, it’s all plagiarized,” he says, referring to large segments of text from the AMACA website that York graduate students ran through Google. The organization’s “history” and “philosophy” are very similar to those of Calgary-based Start Marketing Inc. Even Nemati’s profile appears to have been copied, almost verbatim, from someone else’s profile.

“I read an article in the New York Times about the news conference and Iran’s new morality rules for men’s haircuts.” Zandi says. “All of a sudden the man behind it claims to have a doctorate and be a graduate of Schulich? It’s quite shocking.”

تورنتو استار ادعا کرد: طراحان مدل موی ایرانی متقلب از کار درآمدند

Detained student activist, Arsalan Abadi was sentenced to six years in prison by an Iranian appellate court.

Daneshjoo News reports that the Qazvin University student who was arrested last December in the Ashura Day protests to the alleged fraud in the presidential elections had been sentenced to nine years in prison in the preliminary court.

Security forces had earlier arrested Abadi’s sister and fiancé and held them in detention for 30 days.

Many people were arrested and sentenced to heavy prison terms in the course of protests to the alleged electoral fraud that brought back Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to another term at the presidency.

The student movement and student groups have been a repeated target of government crackdown in its efforts to quell the election protests.

In recent reports, Nasim Sarabandi, student and women’s rights activist, was summoned by the revolutionary court for “a series fo explanations.”

Sarabandi, who was arrested earlier along with 17 other executive members of the student organization Consolidation Bureau last year, has been repeatedly threatened by the security forces in the past months.

Internet news sites have also reported that Azam Visme, journalist for the minority MP faction of the Parliament was released yesterday on a $70,000 bail. Visme was arrested over a month ago and had been kept in solitary confinement throughout her detention.

شش سال حبس برای معترض روز عاشورا

ارسلان ابدی، دانشجوی دانشگاه قزوین از سوی شعبه ۵۴ دادگاه تجدید نظر به شش سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شد

به گزارش دانشجو نیوز، دادگاه بدوی، این دانشجوی زندانی را به ۹ سال و شش ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم کرده بود

ارسلان ابدی دی ماه سال گذشته در جریان اعتراضات روز عاشورای آن سال دستگیر شد. ماموران امنیتی، خواهر و نامزد این دانشجوی زندانی را نیز به مدت ۳۰ روز در بازداشت نگاه داشته‌بودند

پس از دهمین انتخابات ریاست جمهوری در ۲۲ خرداد سال گذشته هزاران نفر از معترضان به «تقلب» در انتخابات بازداشت و شماری زیادی از آن‌ها به حبس‌های طولانی مدت محکوم شده‌اند

احضار نسیم سرابندی به دادگاه
از سوی دیگر شعبه چهار بازپرسی دادگاه انقلاب، نسیم سرابندی فعال دانشجویی و جنبش زنان را برای «پاره‌ای از توضیحات» احضار کرده‌ است

خانم سرابندی در مهرماه سال گذشته به همراه ۱۷ تن از اعضای شورای تهران دفتر تحکیم وحدت از سوی نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شده بود

وی در ماه‌های اخیر بارها از سوی ماموران وزارت اطلاعات تهدید شده‌است. نیروهای امنیتی پیش از ۲۲ بهمن ماه سال گذشته و همچنین در آستانه سالگرد انتخابات ریاست جمهوری از وی خواستند که از دفتر تحکیم وحدت استعفا دهد.

RAHANA: In a telephone call from the Evin Prison, Fatemeh Kajouri, Behrouz Sadegh Khanjani’s wife, stated that a 20 million Tooman($20,000) bail has been set for her. However, there is no information as to when the bail could be posted.

According to the RAHANA reporter, Kajouri was detained along with 4 other Christians when the security authorities raided her home.

There is no information as to the condition of Alireza Seyedi who was among the people arrested at her house and is held in Ward 209 of the Evin Prison. His family is extremely concerned.

تعیین قرار وثیقه بیست میلیونی برای فاطمه کجوری، شهروند مسیحی

فاطمه ترک کجوری، همسر بهروز صادق خانجانی، طی تماس تلفنی از زندان اوین از تعیین قرار وثیقه بیست میلیون تومانی برای آزادی خبر داده، اما هنوز نحوه و زمان سپردن وثیقه مشخص نشده است

به گزارش خبرنگار رهانا، روز ۲۸ خردادماه، ماموران امنیتی با یورش به منزل بهروز صادق خانجانی،همسر وی، فاطمه کجوری را به همراه چهار تن دیگر از نومسیحیان بازداشت کردند

لازم به‌ذکر است که از میان این شهروندان مسیحی، از وضعیت علی‌رضا سیدی در بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین هیچ اطلاعی در دست نیست واین امر موجب افزایش نگرانی خانواده وی شده است

RAHANA: According to RAHANA, he has started a hunger strike due to the prison’s poor condition, the behavior of the authorities and the limitations set on the prisoners.

In an interview with Voice of America, his wife, Nazanin Davoudi, stated that “although there are numerous reasons for his hunger strike, two problems are central to his decision to go on a strike.” According to her, one of his problems is making telephone calls and the fact that he has not talked to her for a month. Although he is allowed to contact his family on a daily basis, he has refused to call anyone since his calls are being tapped.

His wife further stated that “the second issue is his transfer to solitary confinement for a week on February 11^th, 2009.” He had filed a complaint against the head of prison, Haj Kazem. Despite the orders from the Prosecutor’s office, nothing has been done in the past 6 months.

Nazanin Davoudi also mentioned that there are problems with the food served in Prison. Sometimes there is not enough food for all the prisoners. The health care facilities of the prison are not appropriate as well. In the previous week, they have been deprived of water for drinking or washing purposes for 4 days.

According to his wife, Davoudi was transferred to Ward 3 of the Prison 1 ½ months ago. Ward 3 is for political prisoners. Unlike the past, when they had prison visits once a month, they are now permitted to visit him every 2 weeks.

She also stated that she is extremely concerned and the current situation reminds her of his hunger strike 2 years ago which lasted 70 days. He had become extremely weak and emaciated and had to use a wheelchair and he is once again in serious danger.

Arjang Davoudi was detained in November of 2003 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 74 lashed by Judge Haddad, 16 months later.

ارژنگ داوودی در ششمین روز اعتصاب غذا

ارژنگ داوودی، نویسنده و فعال سیاسی ایرانی از روز پنج شنبه‌ی گذشته، دراعتراض به شرایط بد و فشا های طاقت فرسا و محدودیت‌های حاکم بر زندان رجایی شهر دست به اعتصاب غذا زده است

به گزارش رهانا وی به دلیل وضعیت  زندان رجایی‌شهر و رفتارهای مامورین و ایجادها محدودیت‌ها در  زندان دست به اعتصاب غذا زده است

نازنین داوودی همسر ارژنگ داوودی در مورد علل اعتصاب غذای او به شبکه خبری صدای آمریکا گفته بود: «اگر چه موارد متعددی وجود دارد اما دو مورد در ارتباط با مساله ی اعتصاب نقش اساسی داشتند. یک مورد در ارتباط با وضعیت تلفن ایشان است که در حال حاضر بیش از یک ماه است تماس تلفنی با یکدیگر نداشته ایم؛ اگر چه ایشان حق تلفن کردن دارند و مجاز هستند تا هر روز با ما در تماس باشند اما چون مسئولین زندان به مکالمات ایشان گوش می‌دهند، به همین علت در اعتراض به این عمل مسئولین، با کسی تماس برقرار نمی‌کنند

مورد دوم در ارتباط با انتقال ایشان به سلول انفرادی است که در بیست و دوم بهمن سال ۸۸ به مدت یک هفته صورت پذیرفت، به خاطر این مساله آقای داوودی شکایتی علیه رئیس زندان آقای حاج کاظم تنظیم کرده بودند. علی رغم دستور دادستانی، اما با گذشت بیش از ۶ ماه هنوز هیچ اقدامی در این بار صورت نگرفته است

همسر ارژنگ داودی در وضعیت غذایی زندان رجایی‌شهر می‌گوید: وضعیت غذا اصلا خوب نیست. گاهی اوقات که در هنگام تقسیم غذا، ایشان به عنوان نفر آخر قرار می گیرند، هیچ غذایی برای ایشان باقی نمی‌ماند. در مورد وضعیت بهداشتی هم، چند هفته‌ی پیش در حدود چهار روز آب برای آشامیدن، شست و شو و … نداشتند

وی همچنین در مورد وضعیت ملاقات گفته بود: «در حدود یک ماه و نیم است که ایشان را به بند سه که مخصوص زندانیان سیاسی است، منتقل کرده‌اند و بر خلاف گذشته که ماهی یک مرتبه ملاقات داشتیم در حال حاضر این مدت زمان به دو هفته یک مرتبه تقلیل پیدا کرده است

همسر داودی عمده  نگرانی خود را چنین اعلام می‌کند: «مساله‌ی اعتصاب غذای فعلی ایشان، بنده را یاد اعتصاب غذای دو سال پیش او می اندازد که بیش از هفتاد روز به طول انجامید و تصور آن جسم نحیف و درمانده‌ی ایشان بر روی ویلچر، مرا از تکرار چنین شرایط خطرناکی بسیار نگران کرده است و واقعا دچار عذاب شده ام

ارژنگ داوودی در آبان ماه ۱۳۸۲ بازداشت شد و ۱۶ ماه بعد وی در دادگاه انقلاب توسط قاضی حداد محاکمه و به ۱۵ سال زندان و ۷۴ ضربه شلاق محکوم شد

Iranian authorities have executed two individuals for drug trafficking.

The first execution took place on July 20 in the city of Shiravan.

This individual who’s name has not been revealed was convicted on smuggling 989 grams of Crystal meth.

The second prisoner who’s name has not been revealed either was executed in the City of Ahvaz with similar allegations. He was convicted of smuggling 496 grams of Heroin and crack and not long before his execution another individual with the initials of “A-Sh” was executed in Ahvaz for trafficking 1.375 Kilograms of Heroin.

Must add on July 15, 5 prisoner s were hanged in the Oroumiyeh Central Prison.  Feyzal Saedi, Karam Azizi, Omid Nourani, Abdolrahman Rendi, and Ali Sarban were the prisoners who were executed. They had also been charged with smuggling drugs.

اعدام در دو شهر مختلف در ایران

بنا بر این گزارش اتهام این فرد قاچاق ۹۸۹ گرم کریستال بوده است و نام این فرد در گزارش خبرگزاری فارس عنوان نشده است

به گزارش ایسکانیوز، این فرد که «ع – ش» نام داشت به جرم قاچاق ۴۹۶ گرم هرویین و کراک در اهواز دستگیر شده بود. وی در دادگاه انقلاب به اعدام محکوم شد و بامداد یکشنبه این رای بر اساس ماده هشتم قانون مبارزه با مواد مخدر که در آن اشد مجازات برای حمل ، توزیع، خرید و فروش بیش از ۳۰ گرم هرویین و دیگر مشتقات شیمیایی مرفین و کوکایین (مانند کراک) در نظر گرفته شده است در کوی مشعلی آخر آسفالت به اجرا درآمد

این گزارش می افزاید ، به فاصله کوتاهی پیش از اعدام «ع – ش» فرد دیگری به نام «ع – الف» به جرم قاچاق یک کیلو و ۳۷۵ گرم هرویین ، در ابتدای جاده کوت عبدا… اهواز – جنب پایانه مسافربری آبادان – به دار آویخته شد

چندی پیش نیز در روز پنج شنبه ۲۴ تیرماه ۱۳۸۹ ، پنج زندانی در محوطه زندان مرکزی ارومیه به دار آویخته شدند. بنا به گفته منابع آگاه، نام افراد اعدام شده فیصل ساعدی، کرم عزیزی، امید نورانی، عبدالرحمان رندی وعلی ساربان است. اتهام این افراد توسط مراجع قضایی قاچاق مواد مخدر اعلام شده بود

در این راستا سحرگاه امروز فردی که در دادگاه انقلاب اهواز به اعدام محکوم شده بود در حضور مردم این شهر به دار آویخته شد
