Iranian natural gas exports to Turkey have been halted for the third time this year.
Shana, the Iranian gas, oil and energy news agency, reports that Turkish authorities requested the halt in gas flow over the border.
A spokesman for Iran’s Natural Gas Company, Majid Boujarzadeh, said gas exports were stopped on Thursday night, adding: “The Turkish company BOTAŞ has said it made the request in order to examine gas pipelines and fix possible defects.”
No date for the resumption of gas flow has been announced yet.
In August, gas exports to Turkey were halted twice due to terrorist bombings of the pipelines. In early August, when gas flow was halted for a day, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry blamed the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), a dissident group that claims it fights for the rights of Kurds in Iran. Later the ministry announced that seven PJAK members were killed or arrested in connection with the incident.
Later in August, another explosion interrupted gas flow to Turkey for a day.
According to an agreement signed in 1996, Iran will provide 10 billion cubic metres of gas to Turkey each year for 25 years.

به گزارش شبکه اطلاعرسانی نفت و انرژی (شانا)، قطع صادرات گاز به درخواست ترکیه انجام شده است
مجید بوجارزاده، سخنگو و رئیس روابط عمومی شرکت ملی گاز ایران با بیان اینکه صادرات گاز ایران به ترکیه از ساعت ساعت ۲۳: ۰۹ شامگاه پنج شنبه ۳۱ شهریور ماه جاری متوقف شده، گفت: «شرکت بوتاش ترکیه دلیل این درخواست از ایران را بررسی خط لوله واردات گاز و رفع ایراد احتمالی در آن عنوان کرده است
مجید بوجارزاده زمان ازسرگیری صادرات گاز به ترکیه را اعلام نکرد و گفت که «اخبار تکمیلی در این زمینه متعاقبا اعلام خواهد شد
در مرداد ماه جاری خط لوله صادرات گاز ایران به ترکیه دو بار به دلیل انفجار تروریستی در این خطوط متوقف شده بود
هفتم مرداد ماه نیز یک انفجار خط لوله ماکو صادرات نفت به ترکیه را متوقف کرد. این انفجار هیچگونه تلفات جانی در پی نداشت و از روز شنبه هشتم مرداد ماه با ترمیم این خط لوله، صادرات گاز به ترکیه از سر گرفته شد
وزارت اطلاعات ایران عاملان انفجار خط لوله انتقال گاز ایران به ترکیه را از گروه پژاک دانست و اعلام کرد هفت نفر از آنان کشته و دستگیر شدند
در تاریخ ۲۱ مرداد ماه سال جاری نیز این خط لوله در ۶۰ کیلومتری خاک ترکیه و در نزدیکی تأسیسات اندازهگیری گاز بازرگان ایران منفجر شد
خط لوله انتقال گاز ایران به ترکیه فرودین سال جاری در قم و شهریورماه سال گذشته نیز در منطقه الشکریت از توابع استان آغری ترکیه به دلیل نامعلومی منفجر شده بود
بر اساس قراردادی ۲۵ سالهای که اوت ۱۹۹۶ به امضای مقامات تهران – آنکارا رسیده است، ایران سالانه ۱۰ میلیارد متر مکعب گاز به ترکیه صادر میکند
میزان صادرات گاز طبیعی ایران به ترکیه در سال گذشته در مجموع بالغ بر شش میلیارد و ۸۰۰ میلیون متر مکعب بوده است. ایران در سال جاری نیز به طور متوسط روزانه نزدیک به ۳۰ میلیون مترمکعب گاز طبیعی به ترکیه صادر کرده است
خطوط لوله ایران امکان افزایش ظرفیت گاز صادراتی تا سقف روزانه ۴۰ میلیون متر مکعب را دارند. با ساخت قطعات سوم و چهارم خط لوله ششم سراسری گاز، امکان انتقال روزانه ۹۰ میلیون متر مکعب گاز طبیعی به ترکیه و سایر کشورهای متقاضی در پایانه مرزی بازرگان فراهم خواهد شد
