ran has accused the U.S. and Israel for the assassination of an Iranian scientist on Saturday amid growing concerns of Iranian nuclear advancements.
Darioush Rezai-Nejad of Tehran was killed and his wife injured by motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of his home, according to the New York Times, marking the fourth Iranian killed possibly linked to the country’s nuclear intelligence agency.
Though it is unclear if Rezai-Nejad was linked in any way to Iran’s nuclear program, past reports that have since been backtracked have stated he was a physics professor involved in government nuclear projects. Current reports identify him as possibly a doctoral student at Khajeh Nasroldeen Toosi University or an electronics specialist working at the Iranian defense ministry, according to The Telegrpah.
This latest slaying comes during a time where western nations are growing concern a possible nuclear attack by Iran, who has denied allegations of building nuclear bombs.
American experts say the country is rapidly developing their nuclear strategy and has progressed to the near completion of bomb production.
A number of officials linked to Iran’s nuclear venture have recently been attacked or killed in the same way as Rezai-Nejad. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has accused Israeland western governments in the past for killing prestigious physicists in an effort to subdue nuclear programs in Iran.
Fereydoon Abbasi, who currently spearheads Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, was attacked last Nov. after a passing motorcyclist amid heavy traffic placed an unnoticeable magnetic bomb under his car. Both Abbasi and his wife survived the attack but were reportedly injured.
Nuclear physicist and colleague of Abbasi, Majid Shahriari, was killed the same day in the say way as the attack on Abbasi.
Israel has been linked to the killings as suspects involved in the murder of an Iranian particle physicist, Masoud Ali Mohammadi, who was killed in the same way, have admitted they were working under command of Israel, as reported in The New York Times.
According to the Telegraph, many other nuclear physicists who were possibly linked to the Iranian nuclear bomb effort were attacked or proposed missing as evidence begins to appear of Iranian leads regarding bomb making.
The Telegraph reports that Iran plans to mount a centrifuge at a recently identified underground nuclear plant in Qom along with reports of increased uranium production.
Neither Israel nor the U.S. has commented regarding the murder of Rezai-Nejad or plans to sabotage or extinguish Iranian nuclear intelligence acceleration.

به گزارش منابع خبری ایران، در جلسه امروز مجلس، علی لاریجانی، رئیس مجلس ایران ترور داریوش رضائینژاد، دانشجوی کارشناسی ارشد رشته برق و الکترونیک را که شامگاه روز گذشته رخ داد، «اقدام تروریستی آمریکایی صهیونیستی» نامید و آن را «نمونه دیگری از سطح دشمنی آمریکا» با ایران دانست
علی لاریجانی گفت: «با این حساب آمریکاییها اینگونه اقدامات را در آرایش مدیریت جهانی کذایی خود مباح میدانند لذا به عواقب آن خوب اندیشه کنند
همچنین ۲۰۰ نماینده مجلس با انتشار بیانیهای عاملان ترور داریوش رضائینژاد و کشته شدن اعضای سپاه پاسداران ایران در درگیری با نیروهای حزب حیات کردستان (پژاک) را یکی دانستند و آمریکا و اسرائیل را مسئول آنها خواندند
این نمایندگان مجلس از مسئولان اطلاعاتی و امنیتی خواستند تا در این رابطه اقدامات جدی جهت دستگیری و مجازات عاملان آنها انجام دهند

کامران دانشجو، وزیر علوم ایران نیز در پیام تسلیت خود به این مناسبت، «عوامل خودفروخته صهیونیسم جنایتکار و استکبار جهانی» را مسئول این اقدام خواند و آن را «نشانگر اوج زبونی عوامل استکبار و صهیونیسم جهانی را در به بن بست رسیدن نفاق» دانست
از سوی دیگر مرتضی تمدن، استاندار تهران در مورد این ترور گفت: «آثار و نشانههای موجود جمعآوری شده و کارشناسان مسائل امنیتی این امید را ایجاد میکنند تا بتوان به جزئیات کامل این اقدام جنایتکارانه دست یافت
وی که برای حضور در مراسم تشییع پیکر رضائینژاد در دانشگاه خواجه نصیرالدین طوسی حضور یافته بود گفت: «شک نکنید این پروژه آمریکایی – اسرائیلی در برخورد با نخبگان و افراد اندیشمند ما هدفش این است که ملت ایران و مسیری که در پیش گرفتهایم را دلسرد و مأیوس و خسته کنند
تمدن افزود: ملت ایران حق مقابلهبهمثل را برای خود محفوظ نگاه میدارد
داریوش رضائینژاد، دانشجوی رشته برق و الکترونیک مقطع کارشناسی ارشد دانشگاه صنعتی خواجه نصیرالدین طوسی، شامگاه روز گذشته به همراه همسرش، شهره پیرانی هدف شلیک افراد ناشناس قرار گرفت و کشته شد
همسر وی که فارغالتحصیل مقطع کارشناسی ارشد رشته علوم سیاسی دانشگاه علامه طباطبایی است نیز زخمی و به بیمارستان منتقل شد
خبرگزاریهای ایران ابتدا داریوش رضائینژاد را «داریوش رضائی، دانشمند هستهای و استاد فیزیک» معرفی کردند اما پس از ساعاتی اعلام کردند که فرد ترور شده دانشجوی رشته برق بوده است
این رخداد در ساعت ۱۶ و ۳۰ دقیقه روز شنبه، اول مرداد ماه، در خیابان بنیهاشم تهران روی داد و گفته میشود دو موتورسوار که کلاه کاسکت به سر داشتند و صورتشان دیده نمیشد، با شلیک گلوله داریوش رضائینژاد را در برابر دیدگان همسر و دختر خردسالش کشتند
داریوش رضائینژاد، ۳۵ ساله و اهل آبدانان ایلام بود که تشییع پیکر وی امروز، یکشنبه دوم مردادماه از مقابل دانشکده مهندسی برق دانشگاه خواجه نصیرالدین طوسی برگزار و پیکر وی برای خاکسپاری در زادگاهش به فرودگاه منتقل گردید
هنوز کسی در این رابطه شناسایی و بازداشت نشده و انگیزه این اقدام نیز مشخص نگشته است
