The deputy head of Iran’s security forces has announced that Iran’s crime rate has not risen, especially in light of the country’s population growth.
Ahmadreza Radan told ISNA that the incidence of violent crimes have not increased in recent years, and crimes such as kidnapping and distraint have even decreased.
The security chief commented on the recent rape of women at a party in Khomeini Shahr and the murder of “Iran’s strongest man.” He acknowledged the shocking nature of the news and insisted that the perpetrators would soon be punished.
In the Khomeini Shahr incident, Iranian media reported that 12 “hoodlums” entered a private party on May 24, locked the men in a room and “assaulted” a number of women. In response to the public outcry against the incident, the judiciary has announced it will soon issue sentences for the culprits.
Radan also referred to the murder of Ruhollah Dadashi, a two-time winner of the Iran’s Strongest Man competition, who was recently stabbed to death in Tehran. Radan said security forces apprehended the perpetrators within 48 hours of the crime.
He insisted that in terms of safety, the country is not in a critical situation, and the judiciary and the police are in control.
In recent months, several reports of rape, street murders and other violent crimes in public places have prompted reactions from government officials.
The Parliament has summoned Iran’s Prosecutor General, the head of the Iranian courts and the commander of the security forces to explain the apparent increase in murder and violence in the country.

سردار رادان گفت آمار قتل در کشور نسبت به آمار جمعیت کشور که بیشتر شده، افزایش نداشته است
وی افزود: «جرایم خشن نسبت به چند سال گذشته هیچ افزایشی نداشته بلکه در برخی از جرایم همچون گروگانگیری و گروکشی شاهد کاهش جرم هم هستیم که این موضوع نشان میدهد دستگاه قضایی و پلیس کار خود را به خوبی انجام دادهاند
رادان گفت: وضعیت امنیت را در کشور بحرانی نمیبینم اما اگر بخواهیم همین میزان امنیت هم افزایش پیدا کند باید راهکارهای مناسبی پیشبینی شود
روز گذشته نیز آیتالله احمد خاتمی، عضو هیأت رئیسه مجلس خبرگان در نماز جمعه تهران گفت: ایران امنترین کشور جهان است
احمد خاتمی گفت: طبق تحقیقات، این حرکات سازماندهیشده نبوده و نباید هم با دیدن این صحنهها چنین فضایی را بسازیم که هالهای از ناامنی و یأس در کشور درست کنیم
وی افزود: این همان است که دشمن میخواهد. آنچه واقعیت است این است که ایران اسلامی به فضل خدا امنترین کشور جهان است و این قضایا استثناء بوده و یک قاعده نیست
اما آیتالله ناصر مکارم شیرازی، مرجع دینی شیعه روز پنجشنبه در سخنانی به شدت از وضعیت امنیتی کشور انتقاد کرد و خواهان قاطعیت بیشتر دستگاه قضائی ایران در این رابطه شد
آیتالله مکارم شیرازی پیشنهاد داد دادگاههای ایران همچون دادگاههای دوران علیبن ابیطالب، امام نخست شیعیان از چند مجتهد تشکیل شود و با سرعت و حذف تشریفات، حداکثر در عرض یک هفته مجرمان را به اشد مجازات اعمالشان برسانند
بنا به گزارش سازمانهای دولتی آمار وقوع قتل ناشی از درگیری در ایران رو به افزایش است
به گفته دکتر عبدالرزاق برزگر، معاون سازمان پزشکی قانونی ایران در سال ۱۳۸۹ بر اثر استفاده از سلاح سرد در درگیریهای خیابانی، ۱۰۹۳ نفر جان خود را از دست دادهاند
بنا بر آمار سازمان پزشکی قانونی، در سال ۱۳۸۷ آمار درگیری ۵۶۹ هزار و ۶۶۴ مورد، در سال ۱۳۸۸، این آمار به ۵۸۵ هزار و ۴۷۱ و در سال ۱۳۸۹ این رقم به ۶۲۹ هزار و ۳۶ نفر رسیده است

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
