Hamid Sajjadi
The Iranian Parliament voted to reject Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s choice for sports minister today, the latest chapter in the dispute between the legislative body and the presidency.
Parliament voted 137 to 87 against Hamid Sajjadi, with 23 abstentions.
Some MPs cited Sajjadi’s lack of a concrete agenda for the ministry and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s controversial letter of introduction as reasons for blocking his appointment.
Ahmadinejad had long resisted establishing a Sports Ministry but last week he was finally forced to acquiesce to Parliament’s demand, introducing Sajjadi, a former champion athlete, as his candidate for minister. However, in his letter of introduction to Parliament, Ahdmadinejad once again reiterated his opposition to the ministry itself, maintaining that it would prove detrimental to the Iranian sports community.
Many parliamentarians called the letter insulting and demanded that the president retract it and apologize.
Prior to today’s vote, Ahmadinejad appealed to Parliament on behalf of his appointee, saying: “Let us join hands to give all our support to Mr. Sajjadi to push ahead the ministry of youth and sports.”
After the MPs voted Sajjadi down, Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani expressed hope that the president would soon introduce another appointee.
He added that Sajjadi is highly regarded for his athletic accomplishments; however, Parliament is looking for a candidate with more administrative expertise.
In addition to several medals that he won for his athletics, Sajjadi has a PhD in physical education and is currently the deputy chief of the Physical Education Organization.
Ever since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got into a dispute with Iran’s Supreme Leader over the dismissal of his intelligence minister, the conservative elite has taken every opportunity to resist his choices and decisions, highlighting the president’s waning power at every turn.

مجلس به حمید سجادی برای وزارت ورزش و جوانان رای اعتماد نداد
مجلس روز سهشنبه با ۱۳۷ رأی مخالف، به حمید سجادی، گزینه مورد نظر محمود احمدینژاد برای وزارت ورزش و جوانان رای اعتماد نداد. احمدی نژاد در نشست مجلس خواسته بود که اگر نمایندگان از وی دلخوری دارند آن را از مسئله وزیر ورزش جدا کنند
گزارش خبرگزاری های ایران حاکی است، در جلسه روز سه شنبه مجلس که با حضور ۲۴۷ نماینده برگزار شد، وزیر پیشنهادی برای وزارت ورزش و جوانان تنها توانست ۸۷ رای موافق کسب کند
در این نشست، ۱۳۷ نماینده رای مخالف داده و ۲۳ نماینده نیز رای ممتنع دادند تا در نهایت حمید سجادی به عنوان وزیر جدید دولت دهم انتخاب نشود
به گزارش خبرگزاری ایسنا، محمود احمدینژاد، رئیس جمهور ایران، پیش از آغاز رایگیری، به مدت نیم ساعت به مقوله ورزش و جوانان و دفاع از حمید سجادی پرداخت و پس از وی سه نماینده به عنوان مخالف و سه نماینده نیز به عنوان موافق وزیر پیشنهادی سخن گفتند
رییس جمهور ایران در سخنرانی خود گفت: «اگر کسی از احمدینژاد دلخوری دارد، از مسئله وزیر ورزش جدا کند»
وی افزود: «مگر یک مجلس میتواند در طول چهار سال تمام نیازهای تاریخی یک ملت را برآورده کند؟»
آقای احمدی نژاد در ادامه نطق خود اظهار داشت: ورزش ما در مرحله بسیار حساسی است زیرا ما المپیک را در پیشرو داریم و جوانان ما باید در آنجا افتخارآفرین باشند و بنابراین فرصت کمی تا المپیک برای تدارک داریم
تاسیس وزارت ورزش و مسئله معرفی وزیر برای آن، در ماههای اخیر به یکی از کشمکش های میان قوای مقننه و مجریه در جمهوری اسلامی تبدیل شده و محمود احمدینژاد، هفته گذشته همراه با معرفی حمید سجادی به عنوان وزیر پیشنهادی خود، نامهای گلایهآمیز نیز به مجلس شورای اسلامی فرستاد
پس از قرائت نامه رئیس جمهور در مجلس، احمد توکلی نماینده تهران این نامهنگاری را «اقدامی غیرمتعارف» نامید و تأکید کرد که «رئیس جمهور شرایطی را بوجود آورده که وزیر معرفی شده از طرف وی برای وزارت ورزش و جوانان در صحن علنی مجلس رای نیاورد
محمود احمدینژاد در نامه خود از پنج مورد «ابهام و اشکال» در زمینه تعداد وزارتخانهها، مرجع مسئول ادغام وزارتخانهها، تاریخ تصویب مصوبات و محل تأمین مالی وزارتخانه جدید یاد کردهبود
علی لاریجانی، رئیس مجلس، نامه رئیس جمهور را به توجیهی بر تخلف دولت تشبیه کرد و جواد جهانگیرزاده نماینده ارومیه تأکید کرد که نمایندگان قطعا به گزینه معرفی شده رأی اعتماد نخواهند داد
مجلس شورای اسلامی در دیماه ۸۹ دولت را موظف کرد که سازمان تربیت بدنی و سازمان ملی جوانان را ادغام کرده و به وزارت ورزش و جوانان تبدیل کند، اما دولت که از مورد مشورت قرار نگرفتن در بررسی این مصوبه گلهمند بود، همواره نسبت به اجرای این مصوبه بیمیلی نشان دادهاست
مجلس میگوید که به علت «عدم پاسخگویی سازمان تربیت بدنی به مجلس» و ارتباط کنونی تمامی مسائل حتی کوچک ورزشی کشور با محمود احمدینژاد، ایجاد وزارت ورزش و نظارت مستقیم مجلس بر آن لازم است
در پی کشمکشهای دولت و مجلس در بخش ورزش ایران، مجلس از چندی پیش ادامه فعالیت سازمان تربیت بدنی را غیرقانونی اعلام کرده و کلیه قراردادها، توافقات و پرداختهایی که ذیل عنوان سازمان تربیت بدنی انجام میشود را بیاعتبار دانستهاست
در این میان، کارلوس کیروش، سرمربی پرتغالی تیم ملی فوتبال ایران نیز که در اختلافات دولت و مجلس شورای اسلامی گرفتار شده ناچار شد در مورد دریافت نکردن دستمزدهای خود به فدراسیون فوتبال هشدار دهد
