Iranian political activist Hoda Saber who died after a 10-day hunger strike on June 12
At midnight on June 10, 2011, after nine days of hunger strike, Mr. Saberi suffered a heart attack. After informing the ward’s prison guard, Mr. Daei, we planned for Mr. Saberi’s transfer to the prison clinic. With the help of those present, he was transferred to the area in front of the ward on a stretcher. Unfortunately, it took the ambulance 15 minutes to drive Mr. Saberi to the clinic; a distance that was only a minute away from there.
After Mr. Saber was taken to the clinic, the cellmates were returned to the ward. Half an hour later, however, we saw Mr. Saberi back in the ward. His condition was more aggravated than when he left the cell. Extremely worried, we asked him about his situation and the events that took place in the clinic. He told us that he was severely beaten by agents and a person called “Azemat” in the clinic. They had punched Mr. Saberi in the head, and then the clinic’s personnel threw him out bare feet.
The cellmates complained to the prison guard on duty about the way Mr. Saber was treated. The guard denied Mr. Saber’s account. Meanwhile, we witnessed Mr. Saber’s condition deteriorate. He was feeling pain in the chest area and the left side of his body. He was also feeling nauseous. Due to what had happened to him in the prison clinic, he strongly refused to return there. Finally, and upon the insistence of friends who were concerned about his health, the guard on duty promised to protect Mr. Saber against the assailants and transfer him to a hospital outside the prison. Mr. Saber was once again taken to the area in front of the ward on a stretcher.
The ambulance arrived extremely late again which resulted in the deterioration of Mr. Saber’s condition. Once the ambulance arrived, we were presented with a stretcher and equipment that were not functioning. Finally, and after much difficulty and trouble, Mr. Saber was transferred inside the ambulance. This was our last meeting with our dearest and most moral friend.
During the last class lesson in ward [350 of Evin prison], Mr. Saber told us, “There are blanks and gaps in every passing (death), and others have to pursue to fill those. Ezzatollah Sahabi and Haleh [his daughter who was killed at his funeral] also left us gaps and blanks.”

هدی صابر فعال ملی ـ مذهبی که در بند ۳۵ زندان اوین به سر میبرد طی روزهای گذشته و بر اثر اعتصاب غذا و ضرب و شتم توسط مامورین و مسئولین بهدارین زندان اوین و اهمال در رسیدگی پزشکی جان خود را از دست داد
به گزارش «خانه حقوق بشر ایران» مسئولین قضایی و زندان اوین طی روزهای گذشته علرغم شهادت دادن ۶۴ زندانی در زندان اوین این مساله را انکار کرده و درگذشت این زندانی سیاسی را ناشی از ایست قلبی عنوان کردهاند
متن پیش رو توسط یکی از همبندیان وی در اختیار خانه حقوق بشر ایران قرار گرفته که به شرح آخرین لحظات حضور هدی صابر در بند ۳۵۰ زندان اوین میپردازد
«نیمه شب ۲۰ خرداد پس از ۹ روز ازآغاز اعتصاب غذای آقای صابر وی دچار حمله قلبی شد، پس از اطلاع به افسر نگهبان کشیک بند آقای دایی قرار به انتقال ایشان به بهداری زندان اوین شد. با همکاری حاضرین ایشان با برانکارد به محوظه جلوی بند منتقل شد که متاسفانه فاصله کمتر از یک دقیقه ای بهداری تا بند با تاخیر بیش از ۱۵ دقیقه اس آمبولانس مواجه شد. پس از منتقل شدن ایشان به بهداری نیم ساعت بعد شاهد بازگشت آقای صابر به بند بودیم و این بار در شرایطی نامساعدتر و تکیده. با نگرانی حال ایشان و شرح ماوقع بهداری را جویا شدیم که خود ایشان بیان داشتند که در بهداری توسط عوامل آنها و شخصی به اسم “عظمت” مورد ضرب و شتم شدید قرار گرفته و با مشت بر سر ایشان کوبیده شده و توسط پرسنل بهداری با پای برهنه از آنجا به بیرون انداخته شدند!
این نحوه برخورد با آقای صابر با اعتراض حاضرین در اتاق ایشان به افسر نگهبان بند مواجه شد که البته از سوی ایشان به کلی تکذیب شد. در همین حال شاهد وخامت حال آقای صابر به صورت درد شدید در قفسه سینه و سمت چپ بدن و همچنین حالت تهوع در ایشان بودیم که متاسفانه به دلیل اتفاقات رخ داده در بهداری، ایشان از منتقل شدن به آنجا به شدت امتناع کردند که در نهایت با اصرار دوستان که نگران حال ایشان بودند و قول افسر نگهبان مبنی بر حفاظت از ایشان در مقابل عوامل ضرب و شتم کننده وهمچنین انتقال به بیمارستانی خارج از زندان؛ ایشان به جلو بند با برانکارد انتقال داده شدند که متاسفانه با تاخیر مجدد بیش از حد آمبولانس حال ایشان رو به وخامت نهاد و حتی با حضور آمبولانس با خراب بودن برانکارد و تجهیزات آن مواجه شدیم و در پایان با سختی و مشقت بسیار هدی صابر به آمبولانس منتقل شد و این آخرین دیدار ما با عزیزترین و با اخلاق ترین دوستمان بود.
در آخرین کلاس درس در بند،آقای صابر به ما گفت: «هر رفتی با نقطه چین هایی برای بقیه همراه است که دیگران باید پیگیر آن باشند،عزت الله سحابی و هاله هم نقطه چین های خود را برای ما به جا گذاشتند

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
