Workers in the northwestern Iranian city of Qazvin have staged protests in recent days to demand the payment of wage arrears.
The reformist website Jaras reported that dozens of workers at Qazvin’s textile industry staged a demonstration in front of the Presidential Institute in Tehran on April 16, saying they had not been paid for over a year.
The next day, Fars agency reported that workers at Qazvin’s Naznakh textile company protested in front of the parliament for not having received their wages for the past 16 months.
Workers at the city’s Ziaran slaughterhouse also claim not to have received their wages for more than 24 months.
“The problem has arisen since the firm was privatized, after which the owners backed out claiming that they have not received ample budget from the government to run the firm,” a Ziaran worker who spoke on condition of anonymity told RFE/RL’s Radio Farda today.
He said he has not been paid for the past 27 months, leaving him on the verge of destitution.
“I dare say that I and some of my fellows are on the verge of a divorce due to financial problems,” he added.

به گزارش مهر، رئیس پیشین کانون هماهنگی شوراهای اسلامی کار قزوین می گوید: با واگذاری شرکت گوشت زیاران به دولت هنوز مشکل کارگران آن حل نشده است. کریمی با بیان اینکه کارگران شرکت گوشت زیاران حدود ۲۴ ماه است حقوق نگرفتهاند، افزود: بعد از واگذاری شرکت به دولت مدیرعامل گفته با هماهنگی با استانداری آمادگی بازخرید ۱۱۵ نفر کارگر را داریم
وی با طرح این پرسش که چرا یک شرکت توانایی پرداخت حقوق ۲۴ ماه ۱۱۵ نفر را کارگر ندارد ولی به دنبال بازخرید این تعداد کارگر است، افزود: اینکه کارگران را در شب عید با وضعیت نامطلوبی به پیشواز سال نو فرستادند بسیار ناراحت کننده است

گفتنی است در آستانهی روز جهانی کارگر، کارکنان پتروشیمی بندر امام نیز، کماکان به اعتراض و تحصن خود که از روز شنبه هفته گذشته آغاز شده ادامه دادند
این گزارش ها از ادامه اعتصاب ۱۵۰۰ کارگر مجتمع پتروشیمی بندر امام و صدها کارگر شرکت های پتروشیمی در منطقه ویژه ماهشهر حکایت دارد
اعتصاب در مجتمع پتروشیمی بندر امام از روز بیستم فروردین شروع شد و کارگران شرکت های پتروشیمی در منطقه ویژه ماهشهر از روز ۲۲ فروردین ماه به آنها پیوستند
خواست اعتصابیون انعقاد قراردادهای مستقیم با خود کارگران، موضوعی که دولت محمود احمدی نژاد در سال ۸۴ تصویب کرد، اما هنوز به اجرا در نیامده است، می باشد
کارگران اعتصابی همچنین ضمن درخواست حذف شرکت های پیمانکاری خواستار آن هستند تا از مزایای کارگران رسمی نیز برخوردار شوند
اعتصاب در شرایطی ادامه دارد که به نوشته وبسایت اتحادیه آزاد کارگران ایران، مصطفی موسوی، مشاور مدیرعامل مجتمع پتروشیمی بندر امام، روز شنبه در نامه ای که برای کارگران خوانده شد، از آنان خواست که روز یکشنبه سرکار خود حاضر شوند و گفت که به رغم اعتصاب یک هفته گذشته، حقوق آن روزها پرداخت می شود، کسی اخراج نخواهد شد و او پیگیر خواسته ومطالبات کارگران خواهد بود
بر اساس این گزارش، کارگران اعلام کردند که تا تحقق خواسته هایشان، به اعتصاب ادامه خواهند داد
همزمان با مجتمع پتروشیمی بندر امام، کارگران شرکتهای پتروشیمی امیرکبیر، خوزستان، شیمیایی رازی، تندگویان، بوعلی و اروند در منطقه ویژه ماهشهر با طرح خواسته های مشابه دست به اعتصاب زده اند
دهها کارگر کارخانه نساجی قزوین نیز، از عصر روز شنبه در مقابل نهاد ریاست جمهوری تجمع کردند، که بر اساس گزارش منابع کارگری، کارگران گفته اند بیش از یک سال است که حقوق و مزایا دریافت نکرده اند.
پلیس ضد شورش ضمن جلوگیری از دادن شعار توسط کارگران، آنها را متفرق کرد، اما آنها به تحصن خود در پارک پاستور ادامه دادندخبرگزاری فارس نیز گزارش داد که کارگران شرکت نازنخ قزوین صبح روز یکشنبه (دیروز) در مقابل مجلس شورای اسلامی تجمع کردند
