A protester has been shot and killed at 7th Tir Square in central Tehran, according to several eyewitness reports on opposition websites. The news comes amid reports that protesters are gathering in several parts of the city, responding to the opposition’s call to rally in commemoration of the two people killed during protests last Monday.
An official of Tehran security forces has announced that reports of shootings and death in Tehran are false.
Kaleme opposition website reports that with nightfall the number of protesters is rising and the security forces are reportedly preventing people from gathering using tear gas bombs.
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA reported earlier that Faezeh Hashemi, daughter of moderate cleric, Ayatollah Rafsanjani was arrested by the security forces for participation in the protests but news of her release was soon after reported on FARS news agency.
Eyewitness reports indicated earlier that large crowds of people had gathered in major squares, moving silently without chanting any slogans, as the heavy presence of security forces is reported across the city.
In Mahabad, security forces have reportedly shot at the crowd in order to gain control over the protests.
At the same time in Mashhad, Iran’s second largest city, protesters have been reportedly attacked on the streets with clubs and sticks.
Protests have also been reported in Shiraz, Esfahan, Sanadaj, Mahabad, Rasht and other cities, according to the Rahesabz opposition website.
In the meantime, FARS news agency, which is linked to Iran’s security forces, reported that “no major unrest or demonstrations” are happening in Tehran.

بنابراین گزارشها، در شهر سقز بخش زیادی از کسبهی بازار علیرغم فشار مامورین، مغازههای خود باز نکردند
اعتصاب بازاریان در بوکان نیز گزارش شده است. در سنندج و مریوان نیز بخشهایی از بازاریان دست به اعتصاب زده بودند. در مهاباد تجمع جوانان در میدان استقلال و تظاهرات آنها با حمله نیروهای امنیتی و انتظامی مواجه شد که به درگیری میان مردم و ماموران منجر شد. گفته میشود در این درگیریها یک خودروی نیروی انتظامی به آتش کشیده شد
براساس گزارش وبسایتهای خبری کردها، نیروهای نظامی برای بازگرداندن کنترل از دست رفتهی شهر به سوی مردم آتش گشوده و گزارشها حاکی از آنست که شماری از تظاهرکنندگان با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای نظامی مجروح شده و دهها تن نیز بازداشت شدهاند. گفته میشود یک نفر نیز به قتل رسیده است
منابع خبری مخالفان دولت میگویند تعداد نیروهای امنیتی در شهر تهران چند برابر ۲۵ بهمن بوده است. گفته میشود نیروهای امنیتی و لباس شخصی در تمام میادین اصلی شهر و تقاطع های اصلی مستقر بودند و به نسبت ۲۵ بهمن از سازماندهی و نظم بیشتری برخوردار بودند
دکتر مهدی خزعلی، پزشک و تحلیلگر سیاسی، امروز به گفته خودشان «دور مفصلی» در خیایانهای تهران زده است. او در گفتوگو با دویچه وله، از حضور ۱۰ “ماشین ضدشورش” در خیابان پاستور، اطراف منزل میرحسین موسوی خبر داد وافزود: تهران امروز، (یکشنبه ۱ اسفند ۱۳۸۹) به یک پادگان نظامی تبدیل شده بود. مثل ۲۵ بهمن نبود. اینبار نیروهای گارد، کاملا تجهیز شده آمده بودند. گشتی در بلوار کشاورز، خیابان ولیعصر، میدان انقلاب، میدان آزادی زدم. همه جا مملو از نیروهای گارد بود. در خیابان کارگر به بسیجیهایی که در پیادهرو دستهجمعی با کلاههای ضد شورش و باتوم حرکت میکردند، گفتم، «مثل این که بنا بوده جنبش سبز راهپیمایی کند، شما راهپیمایی میکنید». در بلوار کشاورز جوان دانشجویی که از دانشگاه تهران بیرون آمده را گرفتند و او را جلوی چشم ما بد جوری زدند. من فکر میکنم تظاهرات امروز تظاهرات نیروهای ضد شورش بود. امروز یک مامور نیروی انتظامی پیش من درد دل میکرد. او گله میکرد و میگفت بسیجیها وارد اتوبوسی شدند که ۲۰۰ سرنشین داشت. به زور زن و بچه را پایین ریختند تا یکنفر را دستگیر کنند. با چوب رفته بودند داخل اتوبوس. این رفتارها در خاطرهی مردم میماند
