A few days after the death of the male Syrian tiger at Tehran Zoo, fearing the spread of this disease, Zoo managers decided to shoot 14 lions of this Zoo.
Some time ago at Eram Zoo in Tehran Male Syrian tigers whom was brought from Russia to revive the extinct Mazandaran Tigers had passed away.
Amir Elhami, director of the Zoo announced the cause of Syrian tiger’s death to be of AIDS which was a result of “Donky meat” consumption.
Reportedly the Zoo has been closed since the death of the Syrian tiger.
Lions of this Zoo had also been fed with the contaminated meat and their mass murder can open a new negligence case for the park’s management.
Tehran Zoo Director has previously rejected EPA’s claims regarding the internal causes of this epidemic disease and stated it is more likely the two Syrian tigers were previously contaminated.

مدیر باغ وحش تهران پیش از این با رد ادعاهای سازمان حفاظت محیط زیست مدعی شده بود همهگیری بیماری در گربهسانان این باغ وحش عامل داخلی نداشته و منشا آن احتمالا بیماریی بوده که دو ببر سیبریایی از روسیه با خود آوردهاند
