Iran says the two planes it had downed earlier this month are indeed American spy planes and offered to put them on display.
While the United States fleet in Persian Gulf had previously denied the report claiming that none of their aircraft had been downed, today, Fars news agency quoted Ali Fadavi, head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Navy saying: “It is now certain that US planes in the Persian Gulf have been downed by the Revolutionary Guards who are now in possession of the wreckage.”
He stated that they will display the wreckage “at an appropriate time”, adding: “Americans consider themselves a superpower and the highest authorities in science and technology so it is only natural that they would have trouble accepting such a thing.”
Despite denial from US authorities, the Revolutionary Guards say that they have downed top-of-the-line western spy planes several times. They also admit that these spy planes have managed to invade Iranian territory to a “limited degree.”

ایران میگوید که دو هواپیمای آمریکایی ساقط شده در خلیج فارس توسط سپاه پاسداران سرنگون شدهاند و لاشه این هواپیماها در اختیار سپاه است. این در حالی است که مقامات آمریکایی سرنگونی این هواپیماها از سوی ایران را تکذیب کردهاند
به گزارش خبرگزاری فارس، علی فدوی، فرمانده نیروی دریایی سپاه پاسداران اعلام کرده است که «هواپیماهای آمریکایی در خلیج فارس قطعا توسط سپاه پاسداران سرنگون شدهاند و الان این هواپیماها در اختیار سپاه است.»
وی با بیان اینکه لاشه این هواپیماها در «در زمان مناسب» نمایش داده خواهد شد، گفت: «آمریکاییها خودشان را ابرقدرت و دارای بالاترین تکنولوژی و علم میدانند و طبیعی است که چنین مسائلی را به راحتی قبول نکرده و تکذیب کنند.»
وزارت دفاع ایالات متحده آمریکا چندی پیش با تایید سقوط دو هواپیماهای آمریکایی در خلیج فارس، ادعای مقامات ایرانی در رابطه با سرنگونی این هواپیماها توسط سپاه پاسدارن را تکذیب کرده بود.
امیرعلی حاجیزاده، فرمانده نیروی هوافضای سپاه پاسداران ایران ۱۲ دی ماه سال جاری از «ساقط کردن» دو هواپیمای «جاسوسی» در خلیج فارس توسط سپاه خبر داده بود.
به گزارش خبرگزاری دانشجویان ایران (ایسنا)، فرمانده نیروی هوافضای سپاه اعلام کرده بود: «ما تا الان تعداد زیادی از هواپیماهای جاسوسی و فوق پیشرفته آنها (کشورهای غربی) را سرنگون کردهایم.»
فرمانده نیروی هوافضای سپاه پاسداران ایران گفته بود که هواپیماهای جاسوسی به «میزان محدود» به حریم هوایی ایران «تجاوز» کردهاند.
به گفته فرمانده نیروی دریایی سپاه این هواپیماها «جزو مدرنترین هواپیماهای بدون سرنشین شناسایی نیروی دریایی آمریکا با قابلیت پروازی بالا» بودند
