Hrana News – Alireza Hashemi, Secretary General of Iranian teachers association has been arrested on Wednesday April 28th by security forces and in threshold of Teachers Day. According to Hrana news reporters, yesterday afternoon security forces attacked Mr. Hashemi’s House, searched and confiscated his computer and some other personal belongings. They arrested Mr. Hashemi and transferred him to an unknown location. Earlier Alireza Hashemi had reported his summon to the court via phone. Alireza Hashemi, Secretary General of Iranian teacher association was arrested and sent to prison back in March of 2006. He was held in solitary confinement for 19 days and was issued an order of 3 year imprisonment. He was also arrested in June of last year during post election crises around Park Laleh and was held in solitary confinement for 14 days. It is worth noting that he has not been in touch with his family since his arrest.
Another report indicates that on Wednesday April 28th, Aliakbar Baghbani Secretary General of Iranian teachers union and Mohammad Beheshti Langroudi, the spokes person for this association were arrested at home following their return from Security Ministry. Currently they are being held at ward 209 of Evin prison.
