Hrana news – Due to lack of raw materials, Metal factory I of Tehran will be shut down and the doors will be closed to all their workers.
Based on one of the Worker’s activists statement this factory’s closure came about, while the metal industry workers are still owed wages from the past year.
During a conversation with ILNA Parvin Mohammadi of Iran metal industry factory labor activists stated: “Earlier, the workers were told there is still work to be done but the factory will be shut down until the end of April due to lack of raw material. ”
She added: “This factory has about 350 formal workers whom are involved in making of prefabricated metal Rooms and Caravan.”
This worker said: “Last year the factory went through a similar situation and was closed until the end of april which caused lack of payment for three months of wages to workers”
She also in regards to the Metal factory II worker’s situation added: “This plant has been reopened after the Noruz holiday and all 350 workers are currently back at their positions.” Mohammadi noted: “Metal factory II workers who build metal bridges are also owed wages for a month of the previous year.”
Metal Industries factory I and II are amongst accredited and largest production units of south west Tehran.
