Omid Montzari, who is currently detained in a ward 209 cell with 4 other prisoners, was allowed a first prison visit with his family.
According to CHRR, Montazeri’s temporary detention order will expire on February 25 and since his trial has already concluded, he should be eligible for release on bail. However, he remains detained and his lawyer has been denied access to his file.
Montzari was arrested on December 28, 2009 after going to the investigations office of the Intelligence Ministry to seek information about his mother who had been arrested along with her guests the previous night.
