On January 27th, 2010, the 25-year-old, Saeedeh Mirzaee was detained and taken to an unknown location, as she was helping a group of street kids. Mirzaee is completing a master’s degree in chemistry at Tehran University and also works with the Donyayeh Behtar NGO (A Better World).
According to a report by HRDA, Babak Nazari was also arrested this morning and taken to an unknown location. Nazari started to work with the Molavi NGO after Jahan Shayesteh, the first NGO he worked with, was banned by the Intelligence Ministry.
Following the arrest of Nazari, the agents went to his parental house in Eslam-Shahr (a suburb of Tehran), where they performed a lengthy house search taking away his computer and other personal items. A similar search took place at Mirzaee’s house.
Since the arrests of their children the families of the 2 detained activists have been going to the Revolutionary Court during the day and to the nightly gathering outside Evin Prison, hoping to obtain information about their children.
