Iranian protesters have taken to streets once more to bring home the fact that protests to the allegedly fraudulent re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad persist despite all government efforts to silence it.

Security forces had been preparing for confrontation with protesters from days ahead. A large section of the forces are stationed in front of Tehran’s main entrance. They have been impeding protesters from entering the campus in order to join the student protests.

All of Tehran’s major universities are witnessing student gatherings and protests.

While no definite numbers have been announced, reformist media report that protesters are being arrested by the police.

Pro-Ahmadinejad, Basiji students have reportedly entangled with protesters in Tehran University and eyewitness reports maintain that university security forces support Basiji students in their efforts to suppress student protesters.

In addition to Tehran, universities in Mashad, Kermanshah, Sanandaj and Tabriz have been cites of protester demonstrations.
